As a part of its aggressive exercise to advance so-called 'reforms', the UPA-II government is proposing to reintroduce PFRDA, Insurance Bill etc. for which there is strong pressure from the MNCs, foreign governments and Indian Corporates. It could not be put through last time due to the strong opposition from the Left Parties as also from the UPA allies themselves. Now to favour the MNCs, Corporates etc. the Government is planning to reintroduce the bills. Mamata has opposed the PFRDA Bill and even if the bill can be passed with the support of BJP, will the government anger Mamata?
But the workers and their unions have to be extra vigilant. The Parliament March against PFRDA Bill has enthusiased the workers and pensioners. The struggle has to continue since PFRDA is an attack on the hard-earned money of the workers by handing over the same to the corporates to be put in the share Market, which may result in losing the entire money also.
NCCPA and AIBDPA have planned to organise sustained agitational programmes to compel the government to drop PFRDA
